Apples wake you up better then coffee

I just had to share this with everyone! Did you know apples provide an energy boost equivalent to that of coffee? I just can't believe it. As someone who hates coffee, this is the perfect substitute. I find it hard when I'm feeling tired especially at university and everyone is having a coffee to give them a boost. I've been trying to stay away from drinks like Boost and Red Bull as it contains so much glucose, which can cause obesity and diabetes. Apparently, your body turns the natural sugars in apples into energy and the best thing is you don't get the side effects of an energy crash like from drinking coffee and it can also be part of your 5 a day.

Millie Mackintosh's style

She's one of the stars of E4’s TV hit show 'Made in Chelsea' and has quickly become a fashion and beauty icon. The 23-year makeup artist has her very own eyelash range and last year she collaborated with Lipsy with a V.I.P collection. Millie’s wardrobe is someone I wouldn't mind having, as she always looks glamorous and girly whether it’s on the show, red carpet events or day looks, she always get's it right! I love Millie’s style blog where she mixes high street with high-end designers. Working for Monsoon during the Christmas holiday's I wasn't really a fan of their clothes as I just imagined someone old wearing it but when I saw Millie in some summer blazers I couldn’t believe they were from Monsoon. She makes the clothes look so young and stylish. I've posted some pictures below of some of her recent looks. She can literally pull anything off with her amazing figure.

Film review: Spring Breakers

I really wish I could tell you all this film was amazing, but sadly it was money and time wasted. It's one of those films where you could just watch the trailer and you’ve basically watched the whole film. Most of the films publicity comes from the stars in the film and not the plot. The film is about four girls -Candy, Faith, Cotty and Brit, who leave their boring lives to have a wild summer in Florida. Faith (Selena Gomez) is the quiet, religious one, Candy (Vanessa Hudgens) and Brit (Ashley Benson) are kind of the leaders in the group and Cotty (Rachel Korine) we'll.... their really was no point to her character; she was just naked for most of it. The trouble starts early when they decide to fund their trip by robbing a chicken shop with a water pistol – devolving by the end of their holiday into an all-girl hit squad for a local drug dealer (James Franco). I wasn't expecting this to be movie of the year but it got so repetitive and slow that you just got bored watching. The story wasn't going anywhere; it just showed people partying in slow motion and lots of nudity. I’d be surprised if there was even a script for this film. The best thing about the film was the music, Shrillex- scary monsters and nice sprites and big bank by Rick Ross feature in the movie. Watch the trailer below

Tuesday Tip: Think before you drink

We should all be drinking lots of water everyday but we all probably drink less then what we actually need. Drinking water has so many health benefits. I was the worst when I was younger drinking fizzy drinks everyday not realising how bad it was for my body. Fizzy drinks and even some drinks that you consider as healthy like innocent contain so much sugar and that is what makes you put on weight. With summer approaching this is the best advice for anyone who wants to get slim and feel more energised. Water hydrates your skin and if you’re even just a little thirsty (or dehydrated) you run the risk of slowing your metabolism. The Department of Health recommends that we should drink about 1.2 litres of fluid every day. This works out to be about six 200ml or eight 150ml glasses. Make sure you drink water before you eat. If like me you find water boring add some fruit! Drinking lemon water in the morning is meant to be good as it aids digestion and hydrates your body. Green tea is also an excellent source of anti-oxidants and for those students who like to drink; green tea helps protect your liver from alcohol.
